We are pleased to announce that Nora Rodriguez has joined the Mandel Institute’s team as Director of the Cultural Leadership Program.
Prior to joining the Institute, Nora served as the Assistant Director, Digital Strategy and Content at MoMA PS1 and taught in NYU Steinhardt’s Visual Arts Administration Master’s Program. Her experience includes shaping educational media at The Jewish Museum and overseeing fellowships and programming at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, part of The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Nora graduated with an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Columbia University. As an artist, educator, and media strategist with over fifteen years of experience in nonprofits and leadership, she is deeply committed to fostering communities of practice at the intersection of arts, education, and social change. Nora works with sound and animation, and her work has screened at REDCAT in LA, the Block Cinema in Chicago, Pioneer Works, The Filmmaker’s Coop, Anthology Film Archives, La Mama, and BRIC in New York, among other venues.
Reflecting on her appointment, Nora shared the following: “I’m thrilled to step into this role and to support the work of artists who are shaping culture with courage, generosity, vision, and beauty. I have a profound respect for the community cultivated in the CLP’s first cohort, and it’s an honor to continue propelling artists who will help us envision new Jewish futures.”
Nora takes the CLP reins from Institute Director Eva Heinstein, who designed and led the pilot of the Cultural Leadership Program: “Nora brings a depth of experience as an artist, educator, and strategist that will no doubt take the Cultural Leadership Program to new heights and expand its impact. We are excited for the many ways she will shape the program and our work at the Institute more broadly.”
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Nora!
