Amichai Levy
Amichai (he/him), born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia, received a BA in Foreign Languages with a concentration in French and minors in Judaic Studies and Korean Studies from George Mason University in 2024. Amichai is excited to be in his second year as the Springboard Ezra Jewish Education Fellow at Hillel Council of New England (HCNE), which serves 12 schools with small Jewish populations in greater Boston. He has the privilege of acting as the Jewish Life Coordinator at Suffolk University Hillel and manages HCNE’s Regional Programming portfolio, including facilitating cohort learning opportunities and managing HCNE’s Shabbat Home Hosting Initiative.

Ava Gurman
Ava is the Springboard Manager at Hillel International, where she is responsible for the professional development of the Fellows. Previously, she served as the Community Manager for GatherDC, running cohort learning and engagement for DC’s young adults in their 20s. Ava has had facilitation training through Resetting the Table and bias training with facilitator Dietra Reiser on Building Racial Stamina. Outside of work, Ava enjoys fermentation, playing pickleball, and going to clothing swaps.

Becca Zdanoff
Becca Zdanoff is the Assistant Director of Learning and Family Engagement at Shaarei Tikvah Synagogue in Scarsdale, NY. Previously, she served as Director of Teen Engagement and as a kindergarten teacher at Mohawk Country Day School in Westchester, NY. At Shaarei Tikvah, Becca helps oversee the synagogue’s religious school, Sha’ar, the teen learning program, Gesher, and guides teens in the STeen program and board. She also teaches 5th and 6th graders, focusing on Israel and Mishna study. Becca played a key role in developing a values-based curriculum for the religious school and organizes a variety of volunteer and service opportunities for students and families. When she’s not working, Becca can be found hanging out with her two dogs, Pickles and Olive, creating floral arrangements, skiing, cooking it up, or exploring rooftops around NYC & Westchester.

Eliana Saidel
Eliana Saidel (she/her) is the Program Coordinator for the Hartman Teen Fellowship at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, where she supports innovative teen programming and manages the fellowship’s logistics. She earned a BA from both Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Previously, Eliana served as a Springboard Fellow at Hunter College Hillel, focusing on Jewish education and student engagement. She has also worked on the education team at Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake and as a private bar/bat mitzvah tutor, experiences that reflect her commitment to fostering meaningful Jewish learning. A lifelong New Yorker, Eliana is an avid reader, enjoys curating playlists for every occasion, and tries to see as many Broadway shows as possible.

Emily Einhorn
Emily Einhorn is Encounter’s Recruitment and Engagement Manager and has been part of the organization since June 2021. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, her appreciation for Jewish education was shaped through experiences at Jewish day school, synagogue, and Camp Ramah. Emily is a Nachshon Project Graduate Fellow and earned her master’s through the NYU Wagner–Skirball dual-degree program. She is passionate about creating educational resources that can hold the Jewish community together amidst differences on, and foster a multipartisan approach to, Israel. Emily has served as the Vice-Chair of IPF ATID New York and New York Coordinator for Reshet Ramah. Emily loves to take film photos, practice yoga, play mahjong, and host Shabbat dinners. Emily has been in New York since starting at Encounter and loves calling Brooklyn home.

Eve Miller
Eve Miller currently works with multiple Jewish organizations in Los Angeles, bringing a dynamic and joyful approach to Jewish learning and programming. She has previously worked with Wilshire Boulevard Temple and currently works with IKAR and the J Los Angeles where she assists with programming, teaches religious school, b’nai mitzvah students, early childhood music, and song leads. Before working full time in Jewish education, she spent almost a decade working in the TV/Film industry. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Eve attended UCLA where she earned a BA in English and Creative Writing. When not working, she enjoys spending her time rock climbing, seeking out the best lavender latte, and walking her very large goldendoodle.

Helena Cooper
Helena Cooper (she/her) is the Director of Youth Engagement at Congregation Shaare Emeth, where she oversees informal youth programming for 3rd-12th graders, teaches in the religious school and B’Mitzvah Academy, and serves on the senior staff of Camp Emeth. In addition to her role, Helena has served as a facilitator for a Black, Jewish dialogue group for teens in St. Louis, deepening her commitment to dialogue, leadership development, and relationship-driven experiences. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from Washington University. Helena lives in St. Louis with her fiance, Max, and their cat, Lucy.

Jesse Steinman
Jesse Steinman is the Manager of Teen Community & Engagement at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, where he leads the experience, community-building, and engagement strategy for the Hartman Teen Fellowship. He previously supported the program operations and logistics for Hartman’s Boston and DC-based programs. Before joining Hartman, he served as Boston University Hillel’s Springboard Innovation Fellow. Jesse graduated from Emory University with a double major in History and German Studies. Through his leadership at Emory Hillel, he spearheaded interreligious programming and a statewide Jewish student anti-racist initiative. Jesse is passionate about global Jewish life and has spent a significant amount of time in Vienna and Berlin, where he has immersed himself in those Jewish communities. At home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, you can usually find him practicing yoga, playing ultimate frisbee, or stress-eating his homemade baked goods while cheering on the Boston Celtics.

Kinneret Witty
Kinneret Witty is the Advocacy and Engagement Coordinator at Hillel Ontario’s York University Campus. Kinneret works to make sure that all students feel safe on campus in a number of ways: she builds relationships with other cultural and religious groups to expand the network of allies on campus and meets with individual students to make sure everyone feels welcome in the Hillel space. Additionally, Kinneret has also served as a Bat Mitzvah teacher in her community for several years. Kinneret has completed a B. Comm (Hons) in Hospitality and Tourism Management and spent 2 years studying in Nishmat in Jerusalem. She also holds a Professional Certificate of Patisserie and Professional Certificate in Food Science.

Lauren Silva
Lauren Silva is the Director of Lifelong Jewish Learning at Congregation B’nai Israel in Sacramento, CA. She is passionate about increasing the impact of supplementary Jewish education for students in both level of Jewish knowledge and relationship to community. She holds degrees in Judaic Studies and Economics from the University of Michigan. As a lifelong learner, Lauren has also participated in Pardes, Valley Beit Midrash, and JLeaders fellowships and volunteer opportunities. In her free time, Lauren loves hosting, reading, oil pastel, swimming, and playing video games.

Maggie Sonenshine
Maggie Sonenshine in an Educator at the Lese Center for Living Judaism at Central Synagogue in New York City. She oversees the first and second grade curriculum and programming as well as teaches a variety of ages in the religious school and Central Tots program. Maggie loves engaging with Central’s youngest students though music, play, and experiential learning. Previously, she was a 2024-2025 Jewish Ideas Fellow through Hebrew Union College. Maggie graduated with honors from New York University in 2024 with a BS in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She served as Vice President of NYU Hillel and President of Kesher: Reform Judaism at NYU. Maggie lives in Manhattan and loves spending her free time seeing theater, solving crossword puzzles, and crafting.

Matt Teitelman
Matt Teitelman is a teacher and grade level coordinator at Rodeph Sholom School in New York City. He teaches Jewish Studies to 5th and 6th grade students and coordinates grade level programming for the 5th grade advisory program. Teitelman earned his Master’s of Jewish Education from Hebrew College while attending the Pardes Institute’s Day School Educators program in Jerusalem. He was an iCenter Graduate Fellow and recipient of the Harry H. Fein Memorial Prize for outstanding studentship. Prior to his work in Jewish Education, Teitelman earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, after which he performed, recorded, and toured on drum set and percussion. In his free time, Teitelman enjoys playing music with friends and family and biking around Manhattan with his two children.

Micali Morin
Micali Morin is the Director of Teen & Young Adult Engagement at the YM-YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood. She is also serving as the Director of Social Responsibility & Teen Engagement at JCC Harlem, and is delighted to work with both of these incredible institutions. Micali is inspired by the endless passion and fervor of teens and young people engaging with their communities. A native of Massachusetts, Micali first learned about the impact of teen community through NFTY Northeast and during her twelve summers at Crane Lake Camp. She is a proud graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with dual degrees in Dramatic Writing and Journalism. Prior to her time at The Y and The JCC, she worked as the Family Program Manager at Repair the World New York; she has also taught at a number of synagogues, educating and learning with youth as they explore and form their own Jewish identities. Micali lives in Washington Heights, Manhattan, and outside of work she can be found reading, experimenting with new recipes, and corralling her rambunctious rabbit.

Rachel Pacernick
Rachel Pacernick is the Engagement Director at Vanderbilt University Hillel. Her work there focuses on welcoming first year students to campus, wide-scale programming, and building meaningful relationships with students. Prior to this role, Rachel worked as the Operations Coordinator for BeWell in School, a Nashville-based non-profit partnering with elementary schools to teach mindfulness, breath, and movement. Rachel graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2022 with a BS in Child Development and Public Policy Studies. She enjoys rock climbing, exploring hikes around Nashville, and watching reality TV.

Rachel Kaye
Rachel Kaye is the Director of School Age Programs and a member of the Center for Family Life at the Marlene Meyerson JCC. For nearly three years, she has overseen school-age and after-school programming for children ages 4–10. A former teacher and a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, with a Master’s degree in Sociology and Education/Education Policy, she currently supervises a team of educators, designs programming, and develops curriculum to support engaging, meaningful, and inclusive learning experiences. Rachel leads Havurah, the JCC’s experiential Jewish learning program, along with the After School Clubhouse and a range of enrichment classes, cultivating environments where children can explore, connect, and grow. She looks forward to deepening her practice as a Jewish educator, learning from peers, and bringing new ideas back to the JCC. Outside of work, she enjoys pottery, walking in Central Park, and traveling with her husband to visit family in Canada and Israel.

Samantha Brody Marks
Samantha Brody Marks is the Springboard Ezra Fellow at Boston University Hillel, where she oversees engagement interns’ leadership development, develops outreach strategy, and creates meaningful opportunities for Jewish learning through courses and everyday conversations. She graduated from Brandeis University with Bachelor’s degrees in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Education Studies and is a current student in the Hornstein program’s MA in Jewish Professional Leadership. She has previously served as a board member of both Hillel International and Brandeis Hillel. Samantha loves to host Shabbat meals in Cambridge with her husband, Eitan.
